Oopsie

[edit]

Added myself to the Active Participants list. Had a little error in getting the tablestyle. All is fixed now. Jmlz87 06:28, 25 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Help?

[edit]

I'd like to add myself for music (my main interest: I'm an X Japan fan/groupie and have very much interest in working with those pages), fashion, art, baseball, Tokyo, mythology, and crime (I'm currently writing an article on a kind of fraud specific to Japan) for starters if possible. That said, I have NO fucking idea how to get myself into the active participants list. Could you please walk me through it? MiscastDice (talk) 23:12, 11 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Sure, no problem. You've been added. ···日本穣? · Talk to Nihonjoe 03:47, 12 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Also, you can add {{User WPJapan}} to your user page if you want. ···日本穣? · Talk to Nihonjoe 03:48, 12 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]
THANKS! MiscastDice (talk) 04:33, 12 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Pleasure District taskforce

[edit]

Is there a taskforce that focusses on the pleasure districts, geisha and oiran? That's my main focus passion. —Preceding unsigned comment added by PureLandAngel (talkcontribs) 22:46, 11 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

There isn't at the moment, but you're welcome to work on those articles. If you want to see if there are enough people interested in such a taskforce, feel free to post a topic over here. ···日本穣? · Talk to Nihonjoe 04:09, 12 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Encouraging the translation of pages

[edit]

Clearly this isn't the correct mechanism, but I've been wandering around behind the curtains of Wikipedia for a while this morning, and so far I don't have a clue about how to move towards my objective or even about better communication channels. Concretely, I was hoping to find a Japanese article corresponding to the recently created English article about Google Play. I wanted to get some of the appropriate vocabulary in Japanese and learn how to describe it in Japanese, but no such article exists yet. Therefore I started looking for some way to encourage the creation of such an article, and again I'm coming up short... (So how about a two-panel translation interface with colorized comparisons and a granularity slider? (Old suggestion, long ignored.)) Shanen (talk) 00:25, 28 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

We don't really have anything encouraging articles to be translated from English to Japanese as that's more something for the Japanese wiki to handle. What level is your Japanese? I'm assuming it's decent given that you've lived in Japan for a while. You can find information on editing on the Japanese wiki ja:Wikipedia:ガイドブック. The only tip I have for you is to make sure your first edit summary whenever you translate a page clearly links to the article you are translating, and states it is a translation of it. This will prevent any articles you translate from being deleted for not linking to the source. ···日本穣? · 投稿 · Talk to Nihonjoe · Join WP Japan! 04:10, 28 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Fix needed?

[edit]

It looks like Michitaro's entry is broken here. Won't you please fix it? 122.18.165.117 (talk) 08:04, 29 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Ryukyu TF parameters

[edit]

An admin needs to add parameters to include WP:RYUKYU. ミーラー強斗武 (talk) 21:13, 11 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
