King: Louis the Great
Look the biography section of Louis I of Hungary article. Can you improve it? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 94.44.5.130 (talk) 11:07, 9 January 2010 (UTC)
This guy is a former prime minister of Hungary so I'm hoping I can find somebody here who has access to Hungarian news sources and can add a few references to it- the article has been tagged with {{BLPunsourced}} since November 2006 and could do with some attention. WP 1.0 bot announcement
This message is being sent to each WikiProject that participates in the WP 1.0 assessment system. On Saturday, January 23, 2010, the WP 1.0 bot will be upgraded. Your project does not need to take any action, but the appearance of your project's summary table will change. The upgrade will make many new, optional features available to all WikiProjects. Additional information is available at the WP 1.0 project homepage. — Carl (CBM · talk) 03:25, 22 January 2010 (UTC)

Cleanup list at Wikipedia:WikiProject Hungary/Cleanup listing#Unreferenced BLPs
FYI - A massive discussion is taking place at a Request for comment (RfC) Wikipedia:Requests for comment/Biographies of living people. About 50k of articles are currently unreferenced and therefore in danger of deletion, some of those are on Hungarian subjects, e.g. your former Prime minister Péter Medgyessy was double endorsed for deletion due to being unreferenced and Otto Solymosi (now referenced). The Péter Medgyessy article was cut short due to BLP concerns and has since been edited by IP, please review those edits.
I have added the proper template on the main page to have a bot generate the cleanup list after some days (hopefully). The cleanup link in the title above (now a redlink) will then point to a list of unreferenced articles with the WikiProject Hungary template on its talk page. Please revise articles on the list, when possible,
- review them for contentious unsourced information pr WP:BLP concerns
- add references (you may e.g. lift references from the Hungarian page, if that page exists)
- remove the {{BLP unsourced}} template from the article.
We need a lot of hands for this. Thank you. Power.corrupts (talk) 12:43, 27 January 2010 (UTC)
- I see no danger of deletion for any article. Esp. if the topic itself is notable then during the Afd process it is customary to do some searches and adding sources when found. IF the Afd process would be changed that would require a massive consensus and the creation of new policy and I see no such thing as of yet. Notable articles will get updated sooner or later and bad semi notables and non notables will be deleted at Afd. So with these lists and all, we should wait until the outcome of the discussion actually results in something. Hobartimus (talk) 14:58, 27 January 2010 (UTC)

Lurdy House (Lurdy Haz)
Has someone already photographed the Lurdy House (Lurdy Haz)? It seems to be a well known shopping mall in Budapest. The reason I ask is because Malev's head office is inside the Lurdy House. WhisperToMe (talk) 18:15, 28 February 2010 (UTC)
- I just checked the hu-wiki and there are no such pictures / or article. It seems shopping malls are not a priority there. Hobartimus (talk) 00:37, 1 March 2010 (UTC)
- Thank you - If there are any other steps needed to publicize a photo request, what would I need to do? Because it has the HQ of Hungary's national airline, Lurdy Haz is a big priority for those living in Hungary. WhisperToMe (talk) 17:23, 1 March 2010 (UTC)
- In these cases always check Flickr maybe someone already uploaded a photo with a suitable license, though in this case when I tried there were mostly photos taken inside Lurdy Haz also you can try the Hungarian Wikipedia they have several photographers as well but it can take them a lot of time to get to it. Unreferenced living people articles bot
User:DASHBot/Wikiprojects provides a list, updated daily, of unreferenced living people articles (BLPs) related to your project. There has been a lot of discussion recently about deleting these unreferenced articles, so it is important that these articles are referenced.
The unreferenced articles related to your project can be found at >>>Wikipedia:WikiProject Hungary/Archive 3/Unreferenced BLPs<<<
If you do not want this wikiproject to participate, please add your project name to this list.
Thank you.
- Update: Wikipedia:WikiProject Hungary/Archive 3/Unreferenced BLPs has been created. This list, which is updated by User:DASHBot/Wikiprojects daily, will allow your wikiproject to quickly identify unreferenced living person articles.
- There maybe no or few articles on this new Unreferenced BLPs page. To increase the overall number of articles in your project with another bot, you can sign up for User:Xenobot_Mk_V#Instructions.
- If you have any questions or concerns, visit User talk:DASHBot/Wikiprojects. Okip 00:50, 28 March 2010 (UTC)
The ethnicity of John Hunyadi
I've opened a thread about John Hunyadi's ethnicity on Fringe theory noticeboard: [1]. John Hunyadi is an important character in Hungarian and Romanian history, so maybe some editors will be interested (Umumu (talk) 07:55, 9 April 2010 (UTC))
- Romaniac colleagues will vivisect you, remove your organs by fire ax and spread them throughout Transsylvania. Be prepared. :-) The Huneodora family is one of the greatest Romanian... I mean... eh wahetever. Same goes to Zrínyi Miklós (aka. Nicola Zrinski) and our croatian fellow editors. --grin ✎ 10:22, 21 April 2010 (UTC)

Archiving
Why is half the content of this page is duplicated in the second archive? If the discussions in 2009 were archived, why are they still here? This page is getting long... – Alensha talk 18:27, 17 May 2010 (UTC)
Photographs
I'm going to Hungary in three weeks time for a holiday, staying in Budapest and also travelling out to some of the remoter areas. If anyone has any suggestions of what I can photograph for Wikipedia, please leave a note on my talk page. I'll be mainly concentrating on railways, but should be going to other tourist destinations as well. I can't guarantee I'll get to any specific locations as I'll be travelling as part of a group, but I'll do my best. — Tivedshambo (t/c) 14:14, 22 May 2010 (UTC)
Hello there. I'm currently writing about SMS Erzherzog Franz Ferdinand. If any Hungarian wikipedians see this post, could they go translate the section on the Readetzky class in that PDF document and then add it to the article. Many thanks, Buggie111 (talk) 22:32, 23 May 2010 (UTC)

Assistance is needed to correct the Eastern Europe article
The Eastern Europe article is fraught with errors, mislabels and slanted facts as if much of it was written by ultraconservatives during the Cold War from an ethnocentric position. If you agree with that Hungary is a Central European state rather than a Soviet satellite, please assist in rewording/correcting the article lead and body. Gregorik (talk) 05:58, 30 August 2010 (UTC)
Bratislava FAR initiated
I have nominated Bratislava for a featured article review here. Please join the discussion on whether this article meets featured article criteria. Articles are typically reviewed for two weeks. If substantial concerns are not addressed during the review period, the article will be moved to the Featured Article Removal Candidates list for a further period, where editors may declare "Keep" or "Delist" the article's featured status. The instructions for the review process are here. Daniel Case (talk) 03:42, 15 September 2010 (UTC)
Hungary articles have been selected for the Wikipedia 0.8 release
Version 0.8 is a collection of Wikipedia articles selected by the Wikipedia 1.0 team for offline release on USB key, DVD and mobile phone. Articles were selected based on their assessed importance and quality, then article versions (revisionIDs) were chosen for trustworthiness (freedom from vandalism) using an adaptation of the WikiTrust algorithm.
We would like to ask you to review the Hungary articles and revisionIDs we have chosen. Selected articles are marked with a diamond symbol (♦) to the right of each article, and this symbol links to the selected version of each article. If you believe we have included or excluded articles inappropriately, please contact us at Wikipedia talk:Version 0.8 with the details. You may wish to look at your WikiProject's articles with cleanup tags and try to improve any that need work; if you do, please give us the new revisionID at Wikipedia talk:Version 0.8. We would like to complete this consultation period by midnight UTC on Monday, October 11th.
We have greatly streamlined the process since the Version 0.7 release, so we aim to have the collection ready for distribution by the end of October, 2010. As a result, we are planning to distribute the collection much more widely, while continuing to work with groups such as One Laptop per Child and Wikipedia for Schools to extend the reach of Wikipedia worldwide. Please help us, with your WikiProject's feedback!

Nominated for deletion: Fáy András Economic High School
There is a discussion on the proposed deletion of the Fáy András Economic High School article at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Fáy András Economic High School. This project has expressed an interest on that article's talk page. Interested project members may wish to contribute to the discussion. // ⌘macwhiz (talk) 15:31, 3 October 2010 (UTC)
Hi all,
I wrote Duna-gate, long a red link, as it seems like it was something of an important politcal scandal. However, I'm not Hungarian and there weren't a lot of good, free, English sources that I could find. Hopefully you folks might be able to add some more citations and content. Thanks, — Scientizzle 20:52, 11 October 2010 (UTC)
Hello everyone. I just wanted to inform you that I improved the aforementioned article from stub and it has already been peer reviewed by Wikiproject Military History team. Any opinion is welcome. Nominated for B-class. Cheers. Lajbi Holla @ me 16:18, 21 October 2010 (UTC)

WikiProject cleanup listing
I have created together with Smallman12q a toolserver tool that shows a weekly-updated list of cleanup categories for WikiProjects, that can be used as a replacement for WolterBot and this WikiProject is among those that are already included (because it is a member of Category:WolterBot cleanup listing subscriptions). See the tool's wiki page, this project's listing in one big table or by categories and the index of WikiProjects. Svick (talk) 20:29, 7 November 2010 (UTC)
I recently expanded this stub and nominated it for DYK. It's a good candidate for the Hungarian Wikipedia if someone can translate it. Daniel Case (talk) 16:54, 7 December 2010 (UTC)
