[edit]Welcome!
If there's not more support in the next few days I'll move it to Wikipedia:WikiProject Music/Frank Sinatra and demote to a simply a work page. Over time though you'd think it would get enough support for a full wikiproject.♦ Dr. Blofeld 09:40, 6 August 2016 (UTC)
Focus of the month
[edit]Generally I'm not a fan of public collaborations as they tend to attract a mish mash of edits and some people regard it as a chore. But it might be a good idea at least to put a few articles in a section which we really want to see improved in a month and people can casually edit one when they feel like it. I think we should target one of Sinatra's 50s albums and aim to get it to GA. 78.26?♦ Dr. Blofeld 14:45, 18 August 2016 (UTC)
I would opt for In the Wee Small Hours. Perhpas Ritchie333 would be interested in helping, he's good with albums.♦ Dr. Blofeld 14:51, 18 August 2016 (UTC)
- Ooh, ooh! I'm in! My vote would be In the Wee Small Hours, but anything between Frankly Sentimental and A Swingin' Affair!, inclusive, would be fine with me. 78.26 (spin me / revolutions) 14:55, 18 August 2016 (UTC)
- I wouldn't say I'm "good with albums" per se, I have taken quite a few to GA where I have listened to them on and off over several decades and when I am certain I have a good selection of book sources available that can cover everything about the album, which I'm no so confident for something like In the Wee Small Hours. Still, if you had to pick an album, that would be a good candidate. Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 15:00, 18 August 2016 (UTC)
I think In the Wee Small Hours, Fly Me to the Moon, Come Fly With Me and My Way are four of the most essential ones to get up to decent status. I'm going to list all four on the main page as priority, if somebody begins editing it let us know here and I'm sure people will be more likely to collaborate. I say go for the album first.♦ Dr. Blofeld 15:04, 18 August 2016 (UTC)
- In the Wee Small Hours is the highest ranked Sinatra album on WP:ALBUMS/500. Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 15:06, 18 August 2016 (UTC)
- Yes, though if the Greatest guitarist list is anything to go by I wouldn't take a Rolling Stone list too seriously! At quick glance though they've certainly got a lot of the great albums listed in there! When I have a really good think about great albums you know I think Urban Hymns deserves to be top 20, it's a fantastic album. And I'm not that much of an Indie/Verve fan either, it's just an amazing album. Bat Out of Hell II: Back into Hell too is easily top 50 IMO, and they gave that a poor review!!.♦ Dr. Blofeld 16:35, 18 August 2016 (UTC)
Back to this
[edit]I'm doing my preliminary research on this now. Do you want to set up a sandbox area, or you want I should dive in and start editing Wee Small Hours? (presuming the deletionist crowd cuts back on the record label nominations. There are 100s that should be deleted, but they always seem to pick marginally notable cases which I feel compelled to rescue.) 78.26 (spin me / revolutions) 17:06, 20 September 2016 (UTC)
@Dr. Blofeld:@Ritchie333: I've done my usual slow work, but I think that's about all the prose that's in me at In the Wee Small Hours. Would one or both of you take a look and improve the thing? It needs some re-organization. Some of the sources, particularly regarding release formats (think discogs), need improvement and I'll try to find better in the meantime. Many thanks! 78.26 (spin me / revolutions) 04:28, 30 November 2016 (UTC)
Yes, let's try to get it up to GA status before Christmas or even his birthday. I'm having a few days break from here after the big contest though.♦ Dr. Blofeld 11:28, 30 November 2016 (UTC)
@Yoninah:, @78.26: etc, can you expand this?♦ Dr. Blofeld 14:59, 16 March 2017 (UTC)
- I've done all I can do, I think. That's a pretty obscure song there, Dr.! There's a brief mention of it in a 1993 issue of Cadence Magazine, but Google Books only gives a tiny snippet, and I can't tell the article name, author, or even for certain which exact issue it appears in. link 78.26 (spin me / revolutions) 16:17, 16 March 2017 (UTC)

Request for information on WP1.0 web tool
[edit]Hello and greetings from the maintainers of the WP 1.0 Bot! As you may or may not know, we are currently involved in an overhaul of the bot, in order to make it more modern and maintainable. As part of this process, we will be rewriting the web tool that is part of the project. You might have noticed this tool if you click through the links on the project assessment summary tables.
We'd like to collect information on how the current tool is used by....you! How do you yourself and the other maintainers of your project use the web tool? Which of its features do you need? How frequently do you use these features? And what features is the tool missing that would be useful to you? We have collected all of these questions at this Google form where you can leave your response. Walkerma (talk) 04:24, 27 October 2019 (UTC)
