Marriage and Children Details

[edit]

I've completed all the available list to the best of my ability. I notice that biographical articles on women go into a disproportionate level of detail about their marriages and children than is true in biographical articles on men. Also, biographical articles of women tend to, when discussing their husbands and children, make the husbands and children the focal subject of the section. That is to say that the section ceases to be about the woman the biography is about and becomes, in rhetorical stance, about the woman's husband or children.

There may be another worthwhile project or two in these observations.

Yay! Thanks for completing those. Interesting analysis of the articles. That might very well be a good subject for a future project. I wrote the program that generated the initial list a year ago, mainly just as a pilot project to see if there would be interest in such work. Unfortunately, I'm not sure what I did with that program, but it's probably still around somewhere. I'll see if I can find it and generate a new list. Thanks for the feedback and let me know if you have any other ideas for new projects. Kaldari (talk) 22:09, 12 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks! if you post them, I'll keep coming to edit. I was happy to see that there was a wiki project started for this. It's something that's always bugged me as a reader. --Spaceanddeath (talk) 22:19, 12 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
