Essay feedback[edit]

I just wrote my first user essay. If anyone has time, feedback on the essay's talk page would be appreciated! Thanks, voorts (talk/contributions) 01:53, 15 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I've drafted another on the presumption of notability. voorts (talk/contributions) 20:57, 17 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Should user essays first be vetted before making them Wikipedia essays?[edit]

Can I just move my User:Nederlandse Leeuw/Emptying categories out of process to Wikipedia:Emptying categories out of process? Or should some editors first vet it and perhaps change or remove some stuff before it is ready as a Wikipedia essay? The only difference I see at Wikipedia:Essays#Types of essays is that Wikipedia essays and user essays are categorised differently, and that as long as I keep it as a user essay, I can revert any changes made by other editors. I would like to allow others to make improvements to it, and have it become a bit more mainstream (though not yet a formal guideline).

The essay currently does contain some anonymised comments from various editors and admins that are used as examples to illustrate various scenarios. They are not intended as WP:PAs, but their usernames are traceable. I would like to be sure that I don't bring anyone (including myself) into trouble if I make it a Wikipedia essay by including those anonymised case studies.
