It's gonna take me awhile to think up solutions. GoodDay (talk) 22:42, 14 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Neutrality

[edit]

I would be glad to contribute in any way here, but have questions about the opening, "The project aims to be a neutral venue where procedures and initiates can be adapted and dispute settled." Are there misspellings in there? And, the really more important question is, would I ever be considered capable of being neutral, given that I have fostered a friendship with Sarah777? I don't know what neutral means, does it mean I should drop any opinions or support for republicanism or sympathy for Sarah's plight I might have? Who decides and/or how are disputes to be settled? RA, these are sincere, valid questions that prevent me from signing on until they're asnswered. Sswonk (talk) 09:43, 15 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

"Are there misspellings in there?" One or two, maybe :)
Very good questions, re: "neturality" and what is neturality. What I had in mind was not that we wouldn't have bias or show our bias, that is neither possible nor desirable IMHO. More what I was thinking was that this space would be neutral, not predetermined in its outcomes or owned by any "side" (indeed I would hope that it would feel "owned" by both).
I think that it is important that we be able to express our perspectives. What I wrote, spelling mistakes and all, was just thoughts. I don't have the answers. I would not expect anyone to sign up to anything they did not feel was right or workable. So, please edit the page or comment here with what you think might be worthwhile or what might be problems for a project like this. --rannṗáirtí anaiṫnid (coṁrá) 13:02, 15 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Comment on the WikiProject X proposal

[edit]

Hello there! As you may already know, most WikiProjects here on Wikipedia struggle to stay active after they've been founded. I believe there is a lot of potential for WikiProjects to facilitate collaboration across subject areas, so I have submitted a grant proposal with the Wikimedia Foundation for the "WikiProject X" project. WikiProject X will study what makes WikiProjects succeed in retaining editors and then design a prototype WikiProject system that will recruit contributors to WikiProjects and help them run effectively. Please review the proposal here and leave feedback. If you have any questions, you can ask on the proposal page or leave a message on my talk page. Thank you for your time! (Also, sorry about the posting mistake earlier. If someone already moved my message to the talk page, feel free to remove this posting.) Harej (talk) 22:47, 1 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

WikiProject X is live!

[edit]

Hello everyone!

You may have received a message from me earlier asking you to comment on my WikiProject X proposal. The good news is that WikiProject X is now live! In our first phase, we are focusing on research. At this time, we are looking for people to share their experiences with WikiProjects: good, bad, or neutral. We are also looking for WikiProjects that may be interested in trying out new tools and layouts that will make participating easier and projects easier to maintain. If you or your WikiProject are interested, check us out! Note that this is an opt-in program; no WikiProject will be required to change anything against its wishes. Please let me know if you have any questions. Thank you!

Note: To receive additional notifications about WikiProject X on this talk page, please add this page to Wikipedia:WikiProject X/Newsletter. Otherwise, this will be the last notification sent about WikiProject X.
