Hi,

The categories for the related Wikiproject have moved from Category:LGBT articles by quality to Category:LGBTQ+ studies articles by quality. And for the person sub area from Category:LGBT studies - person articles by quality to Category:LGBTQ+ studies - person articles by quality.

Is there anything that will need to be done for the bot to pick up the change of the Project titles from "LGBT" to "LGBTQ+ studies"?

I saw there was the page at User:WP 1.0 bot/Tables/Project/LGBTQ+ studies and User:WP 1.0 bot/Tables/Project/LGBTQ+ studies - person which I already moved to match the new name, but just want to make sure this will actually be picked up by the bot when it does its nightly run? Self-reply. Looks like my move of the relevant pages got everything working :) The bot has continued to update the pages based on the updated category titles :) Raladic (talk) 01:18, 9 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Content assessment bot query for WP:RNLI

[edit]

I've just created the following categories (as well as sub-cats) for Wikipedia:WikiProject Water sports/RNLI task force:

I followed the instructions for setting up the bot but I'm unsure how to link the categories with the task force; only the parent WikiProject (Water sports) appears when I try to manually run the bot. Here's a link to an example article that has one of the task force's talk page templates: Talk:Fowey Lifeboat Station.

Any help would be much appreciated! Cheers, Aluxosm (talk) 01:32, 12 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Aluxosm: Can you give an example of another task force that is already set up for something similar to what you require here? Maybe we can compare them, see how they differ. --Redrose64 🌹 (talk) 12:56, 12 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Redrose64: The Cheeses task force of the Food and Drink WikiProject uses this feature. I've just compared the templates and read through the task force docs again and am now thinking it might have something to do with the TF_n_ASSESSMENT_CAT parameter:
Thanks for the eyes on this, Aluxosm (talk) 13:23, 12 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Ooh, I think you actually solved this 12 years ago, Redrose64!
Might need to just add the |TF_n_QUALITY=, |tf n importance=, and |TF_n_ASSESSMENT_CAT= parameters to the talk page template.
These docs describe the usage of each parameter. Aluxosm (talk) 13:49, 12 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Bot is seemingly malfunctioning en masse

[edit]

The User:WP 1.0 bot seems to not be updating the "WikiProject articles by quality pages" correctly for any WikiProject. Some pages have not updated in days, others are completely blank except for a notice that "the logs for this date were too large to upload", and all of them seem to be removing things that are still tagged with the project and creating massive walls of text with hundreds of redirects, such as Wikipedia:Version 1.0 Editorial Team/Pokémon articles by quality log. Is there any way we can reasonably fix this and revive this page type, because it is effectively useless right now. (Oinkers42) (talk) 18:20, 24 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Oinkers42: I believe this is related to the recent move of a load of category from names ending in "articles" to "pages" (see here and specifically here), as well as the code for Template:Articles by Quality being merged with Template:Category class (see here). Pinging MSGJ 🎅. Aluxosm (talk) 20:21, 24 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, I was hoping that 7 days after the last Sorry, all of the logs for this date were too large to upload. for WPVG that it would self-correct, but it didn't. Timing does seem like it choked on the countless thousands of fake importance changes - pinging Audiodude in case it just needs a restart or something. --PresN 16:00, 26 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
The mass category and template title move could be part of it, but the bot was making its full run for several days after that happened. There were some erratic things going on prior though (such as an "Other" column here that shouldn't exist). There might have been some changes made to the banner shell or some assessment module somewhere causing this - I know the banner shell is now supposed to auto-detect set index articles, dab pages, and redirects, but the bot doesn't seem to always see that.

For the past four days, the bot runs for just under an hour before stopping, and then four hours later updates the OverallArticles table. There may be a specific project that's causing the bot to error out. (I tried running it manually for Automobiles a few days ago to no avail, but it appears that other editors have tried that with other projects as well with a similar result.) --Sable232 (talk) 22:18, 26 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for bringing this to my attention! I'll take a look now. audiodude (talk) 13:52, 27 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Looks like the logging table ate up all of the disk space because of the superfluous changes. I've truncated it now, so WP1 should be running again as of midnight UTC today. I've also filed https://github.com/openzim/wp1/issues/778 in order to make sure we are deleting logs older than 7 days in the future. audiodude (talk) 14:19, 27 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
audiodude, it started at midnight but ran for just under an hour before it choked again. Normally it would run for several hours. Nurg (talk) 05:23, 28 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Biography (politics and government)

[edit]

Biography (politics and government) is not manually updating with the bot. It only updates to about 50% and when I search Biography (politics and government) it doesn't load the table. ProfessorMaximillian (talk) 03:37, 25 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Ditto regarding WP:WPWW which hasn't bot-updated since 20 Dec 2024. I'm unable to manually update it (it only reaches about 50%). --Rosiestep (talk) 15:43, 26 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
