Recomendation

[edit]

These boxes used to be seperated into mental and physical conditions. I think they should go back.--God of War 19:51, 7 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Removed a box that linked to Malware

[edit]

There was a userbox about autism that contained a link to a site, "unpuzzled.net", which I'm sure at some point was an autism awareness site; but now (as of 2017), if you click to it without a JavaScript-blocker (DO NOT DO THIS!) it tries to install Malware / Ransomware and you cannot leave the site or close the tab except by force-closing your browser; when you visit it with JavaScript blocked, all it shows that the page is up for sale. Since the userbox doesn't link to anything to do with autism, but actually to malicious content, I just took the nuclear option to remove it. — Preceding unsigned comment added by LB7979 (talkcontribs) 08:23, 4 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

"Suffer"

[edit]

"Suffers" from? I might have BPD but I don't suffer from it. I suffer working 9 to 5... —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.227.213.34 (talkcontribs) 22:02, August 7, 2006

Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder...

[edit]

It seems that there are no boxes for Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder and the like. I think it would be welcome to add those to the article... Also, I was wondering, is anyone interested in making a sociology-ish portal, which includes things that aren't mental illnesses per se(such as Shyness and the like), and similar things that fall under the heading of "Sociology"? Should have one for ADD, JRA, and RA

We should have one for ADD, JRA (Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis), and RA (Rheumatoid Arthritis). --Hayson 21:36, 5 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Question

[edit]

Is there an easy way to send a message to all people that have a specific userbox? Message me with the answer if you figure it out.

It's in my userspace for now. Go ahead and fix up its looks if you want. ---Bersl2 06:49, 16 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Mental health skeptic

[edit]

I see they got rid of user mental health skeptic. I was a big fan of that sticker and proudly displayed one. What can be done? --Bluejay Young 08:00, 21 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

My solution for recovering a deleted userbox ({{User varied}}, FYI) was to check the Google Cache version of my User page and recreate the box from that; then, host it in userspace like I did with my box in this section, and surely you will not face the wrath of the admins. ---Bersl2 08:49, 22 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Autism cure userbox

[edit]
' This user hopes for a cure to autism, as he/she has a connection to someone with autism.

I made a userbox for an autism cure. Can anyone put it up? (Forgive me if I put this in the wrong place.) I made a userpage with it on that too, because at first I originally made that for myself. o.0 OreosTalkContribs 21:27, 24 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

DID userbox

[edit]

I added a userbox for dissociative identity disorder, the official name for what was once called multiple personality disorder, with the same template as the MPD box. ---Melange fiesta 18:25, 20 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I still want a healthy multiplicity userbox. I would like it to look like this.
plural This user is a healthy multiple.

If this is too controversial for this section I can move it. --Bluejay Young 04:31, 3 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Am I the only wikipedian with extra nipples? I'll try to make a userbox four (thi hi hihi) us. PER9000 21:37, 26 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

User:CKD Removed?

[edit]

I added a User:CKD (Chronic Kidney Disease) template last night, but I see that template has been deleted. Does anyone know how I might go about finding out why the template was deleted? Jonabbey 03:58, 13 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Okay, found the information I needed in the deletion log, which cited WP:GUS as the new policy for userboxes not being allowed in template space. Also found directions citing User:CharonX/Userboxes for information on coding standards for userspace userboxes. Jonabbey 04:33, 13 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Request: Autistic users, autism rights

[edit]

So far, I have been unable to find userbox templates for autistic rights. I realize this is a highly debatable issue, but I notice there is a template for users who hope for a cure for autism. There should be similar boxes available for those of us who hope for, rather than a cure, discoveries of new ways for us to use our unique skills to earn a living and contribute to society. Examples:

  • This user is autistic. (link to autism)
  • This user is proudly autistic. (link to autism rights movement)
  • This user believes in autism rights. (same, that would cover non-autistics)
  • This user does not believe autism should be cured. (likewise)

Thank you, --Bluejay Young 01:55, 30 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

A userbox that says the user "does not believe autism should be cured" sounds too controversial to be on the this page. It should be on one of the personal pages where other controversial userboxes have been moved to. I am aware of the no cure movement but as an autism (Asperger's syndrome) suferer, I oppose it.--Ted-m 17:31, 2 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I will look around, thank you. But I am personally not sure why curing autism is a less controversial issue than not curing it. Actually I'm not opposed to a cure for autism. Lots of autistics I know want it. I just hope it will be optional (not forced or mandatory) and reversible. But that can be discussed elsewhere. --Bluejay Young 04:27, 3 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I would like to second this request. There is a box for Aspies but not people who fall into the Autism Spectrum without being diagnosed with Asperger's Syndrome. I don't have an opinion about the cure vs. noncure boxes. I would just like to see one for Autism in general. Perhaps just one that said "This user is Autistic" or "This user has Autism". I would be strongly opposed to anything that said "This user suffers from Autism," however. I may try to create my own box if I have the time. I made some prototypes over here that I will turn into templates later if I get enough approval.--JUDE talk 04:27, 9 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Request: cancer survival userbox

[edit]

we have a userbox for breast cancer survival.

Could somebody make one for general cancers. Something like "This user is a cancer survivor" I had mouth cancer about 8 years ago and I put a Category:wikipedian cancer survivors on my user page. It would be a good think to link to in the userbox. --Ted-m 17:22, 2 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Request to add userboxes to list

[edit]

I have made a couple of userboxes, similar in vein to the 'Escaped Genetic Experiment' one. Here they are.

Code Result
|{{User:MichaelHenley/ubx/Radioactive}}
This user is Radioactive. Approach with extreme caution-they may be highly unstable.
Usage
|{{User:MichaelHenley/ubx/WetDanger}}
This user is Dangerous When Wet. Ensure that this user does not have a shower!
Usage
|{{User:MichaelHenley/ubx/ToxicGas}}
This user may contain Poison gas. Store them in an upright position at all times, and encourage them to forgo Baked beans.

If no-one has any probs i'll put them on.  MichaelHenley (Page-Talk-Contribs) 10:52, 7 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Narcolepsy/Cataplexy

[edit]

As a sufferer, I have to ask, since when have narcolepsy and cataplexy been considered mental health conditions? They're neurological, with measurable differences in brain activity and plenty of good research about their physical mechanisms.

Eating disorder boxes

[edit]

These should really, I believe, be moved under the category for mental conditions.--KobaVanDerLubbe 18:28, 3 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Moved them to there, since that is generally what they are seen and treated as. --KobaVanDerLubbe 18:34, 3 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Request: Crohn's Disease Userbox

[edit]

I already see that there is a userbox for those with Irritable Bowel Syndrome, but i would like to make a request that a userbox be made for those who suffer Crohn's Disease and Colitis respectively. There are major differences between IBD, Crohn's and Colitis, and there should be boxes representing respectively all three.

Also, is there a way that a support box can be made for those who have crohn's and colitis that have "This user supports research for a cure to Crohn's Disease or Colitis" (make a box for each as crohn's and colitis are different in themselves) AnthonyWalters (talk) 04:47, 26 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
