Once it's finished?

[edit]

Is the one who does the most given an award, or do they just become known as "The most prolific Ass"? Kevin (talk) 03:59, 8 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Eh, like most things on Wikipedia, "the reward for a job well done is six more jobs." :-) In the last month, there have been about another 700 pages that I count that need to be categorized in Category:Living people. There is no finish line. --MZMcBride (talk) 06:43, 24 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I wish you would have explained this before I got started! :D — Ched :  ?  14:11, 3 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

BLP unsourced

[edit]

I can't think of any cases where Template:BLP unsourced should be used; I'm thinking of looking through the pages that transclude it, zapping the info, and explaining to the user who placed the tag (re. policy on unsourced BLP). Any thoughts?  Chzz  ►  15:33, 16 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

So you're going to blank unsourced BLPs or attempt to change our deletion and BLP policies to reflect that we cannot keep unsourced BLPs? لennavecia 20:57, 16 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Didn't we just try that last week Wikipedia_talk:CSD#New_article_category? Kevin (talk) 21:16, 16 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Chzz: I think you had a misunderstanding of the purpose of that template that has now been resolved. If there's still confusion, please feel free to post here or on my talk page. Cheers. --MZMcBride (talk) 06:44, 24 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Hmmmm... Well, you'd likely have the whole "inclusionist" crowd knocking on your talk page door pretty quick. If you're just looking for contentious and defamatory material - I'd say OK. I'm not sure what you're explaining to the person who placed the tag though? Maybe I'm missing something here. — Ched :  ?  14:09, 3 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Articles with blp=yes but no Category:Living people

[edit]

I created a list today with 13,000 articles that transclude {{blp}} in their talk pages but have no Category:Living people in the articlespace. This could mean three things: 1)the category is missing 2)the article is about a group 3){{blp}} is misplaced. If someone is interested to help me this with, I could send the list by email or upload it as part of this project. I am waiting for ideas. -- Magioladitis (talk) 11:58, 3 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I 'll try to clean up all musical groups from that right now. -- Magioladitis (talk) 12:43, 3 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Ideally both the article and the talk page would have their corresponding entries. Actually, I hadn't thought about it this way, but rather the ones where the article had the Living people cat - but hadn't had the blp=yes stuff put on the talk page yet. Sure, I'll help. I'll drop by your talk page later today, and you can fill me in on what needs to be done, and how we should go about it. Are you thinking about doing something like Wikipedia:Uncategorized biographies of living people/BLPPotential? — Ched :  ?  13:41, 3 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Best to upload it to the project. I'll advertise it on the project page. لennavecia 13:52, 3 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The other way round is already done. I created a list of 30,000+ articles located in Category:Living people which didn't have blp in their talk page and fixed them all. -- Magioladitis (talk) 15:47, 3 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

For the first list, which interests us, I'll first remove all articles containing the string "group_or_band" which is characteristic of articles about groups and then I'll upload it. -- Magioladitis (talk)

If there is something I can help with, let me know. If you send wiki-mail, drop me a note on my talk to look for it; the accnt. that I signed up for isn't monitored much. — Ched :  ?  22:29, 3 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I upoloaded the lists in the same page with the other ones in Wikipedia:Uncategorized biographies of living people/BLPPotential. We have work to do. -- Magioladitis (talk) 23:12, 3 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I'll stick with it. — Ched :  ?  21:09, 4 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Check User:Magioladitis/WPBiography/1 with articles with WPBiography|class=dab in their talk page which are not Human dab pages! Enjoy! -- Magioladitis (talk) 23:20, 3 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
