Watching user pages after warning
Currently, when I warn a user, Ultraviolet will add their user page to my watchlist, permanently. There should be an option to adjust this, as in Twinkle, to either watch temporarily, or to not watch at all. |Madeline. 14:20, 27 August 2022 (UTC)
- @Maddy from Celeste: Apologies for the late response. This is a planned feature, and slated for later implementation. Chlod (UV • say hi!) 06:52, 4 September 2022 (UTC)
Problem with Firefox with NoScript add-on
Redwarn doesn't properly work with Firefox and the NoScript add-on anymore, running Windows 10, Firefox 104.0.1. I allow scripts from all wiki-related websites. I can still revert, but there is no way to interact with the redwarn generated popup-windows anymore. There is no problem with Google Chrome with the same NoScript extension. Has something changed somewhere? - DVdm (talk) 16:22, 5 September 2022 (UTC)
- DVdm the symptoms you speak of, match with the one from the problem I described in the thread above #RW unable to post talk page messages. Basically, it was time for me to say good bye to Redwarn, since it is not supported anymore. Venkat TL (talk) 17:27, 5 September 2022 (UTC)
- Nothing on RedWarn's side has changed in a long while. I'm still trying to find out what could have caused this as it may be helpful in finding a quick patch for it. I know that many users still use RedWarn to this day and haven't switched yet, so a minimal amount of support is still required. I've yet to find a way to replicate the problem however, since RedWarn works properly on my browser (Firefox 105.0b6). Chlod (UV • say hi!) 17:40, 5 September 2022 (UTC)
- So it's probably yet another Firfox glitch. Let's hope it'll work again soon. Huggle died a long time ago for me, and redwarn is about the only remaining tool to cope with vandalism. - DVdm (talk) 18:16, 5 September 2022 (UTC)
- @DVdm, have you added `redwarn.toolforge.org` to your noscript config? That's where all the styles and assets for RedWarns dialogs are loaded from/ ✨ Ed talk! ✨ 23:20, 6 September 2022 (UTC)
- @Ed6767: there's no problem with Chrome or with a new virgin Firefox profile, so I guess that all configs are ok. - DVdm (talk) 09:27, 7 September 2022 (UTC)
- @Ed6767: I forgot to mention, yes, I have a noscript exception for redwarn.toolforge.org, both in Chrome and in my standard Firefox profile. It works in Chrome, not in Firefox. When I disable NoScript in Firefox (or when I create a new ff-profile), everthing works, so it must be a noscript-firefox-combination glitch. - DVdm (talk) 11:02, 7 September 2022 (UTC)

Suggestion for menu
Hello! So after using the assume good faith and revert feature with Ultraviolet, I've come to suggest something. What I'm wanting to suggest is that the window is a bit wider (similar to how it is with RW). Currently, it's rather narrow which requires me to manually scroll to the end. One thing I would like to say is I like the addition of the colon after the message saying it's reverting a good faith edit as previously with RedWarn I would manually add a semicolon to the message. RW unable to post talk page messages
Before today it was working well for me. I was able to make reverts and post warning messages. Now nothing happens on pressing the revert button. Cant post warning messages. Venkat TL (talk) 16:36, 3 September 2022 (UTC)
- @Venkat TL: Will need a bit more info on this. Getting any specific error messages? Wikipedia:Ultraviolet/Documentation/Troubleshooting has some information that might be of use. Chlod (UV • say hi!) 06:53, 4 September 2022 (UTC)
- @Chlod I am using Redwarn, should I switch to Ultraviolet? I thought UV is still in development. No error messages. On clicking the redward buttons, the window to select the message is shown. nothing can be selected on that and the window cannot even be cancelled. All buttons are non responsive. The page needs to be reloaded and manually reverted. Venkat TL (talk) 10:05, 4 September 2022 (UTC)
- @Venkat TL: Yeah, you can use UV for now. UV is in a usable state, so there's no problem in replacing RW with it. The only reason it's in "beta" right now is because we haven't finished importing all of RW's old features, nor have we finished customization options. Chlod (UV • say hi!) 15:24, 4 September 2022 (UTC)
- @Chlod disabled RW, installed UV. The rollback and messaging is working for me now. are the custom templates supported yet? They are very useful, if they could be imported from my RW scripts. Thank you for your help. Venkat TL (talk) 15:51, 4 September 2022 (UTC)
- Will give you an update on that. I can't recall the manner in which custom templates are supported, so I'll have to check again. Chlod (UV • say hi!) 03:01, 5 September 2022 (UTC)

- Hi @Venkat TL, I think Toolforge was under temporary maintenance which affected RedWarn. You should be able to try again, if you'd want to. ✨ Ed talk! ✨ 23:22, 6 September 2022 (UTC)
- @Ed6767, @DVdm I tried now and found the problem with RedWarn, I am facing, continues as before. I found that disabling No Scripts makes the problem go away. Unfortunately disabling No Scripts is not an option for me. Wiki related sites are already added as exception to be ignored in the NoScripts yet this javascript related problem happens. Venkat TL (talk) 07:50, 7 September 2022 (UTC)
- Did you add an exception for Toolforge (
redwarn.toolforge.org
)? Both userscripts load CSS and JS files from Toolforge. Remagoxer (talk) 10:28, 7 September 2022 (UTC)- @Remagoxer yes, it is already there. That is how it worked for me in past. Venkat TL (talk) 13:30, 8 September 2022 (UTC)

enwiki.json: "Three-revert rule violation" as a predefined revert reason
Ultraviolet offers editors to join an edit war with the reason "there is an edit war"?[1] Could you perhaps remove that? ~ ToBeFree (talk) 19:37, 16 September 2022 (UTC)
- @ToBeFree: Done with Special:Diff/1110713220. Chlod (UV • say hi!) 03:01, 17 September 2022 (UTC)
Custom templates disappear on Redwarn
From last 2 days, I am unable to find any custom templates in the Redwarn menu. How to get them back? Venkat TL (talk) 11:25, 13 September 2022 (UTC)
- This seems to be deleted by Installation of UV. After I re-installed Redwarn, and manually reverted back redwarnConfig.js to an old version the custom templates returned. This concern is now resolved for me. Venkat TL (talk) 20:47, 17 September 2022 (UTC)
