3 Questions

[edit]

I have three questions re this blurb... I'm leaving all for the co-ords involved @Wehwalt, Gog the Mild, and SchroCat: in this blurb to consider/dismiss...

  • 1. The link for boar-crested in the article has changed from boar-crested to boar-crested helmet.
That new target article was created 10 June 2022 and added to the FA the same day
To change the blurb's current from
is a boar-crested Anglo-Saxon helmet from the 7th century. to
is an Anglo-Saxon boar-crested helmet from the 7th century. (per the FA lede though bypassing its redirect), is an addition of one character (a --> an) but it does place two blue links next to each other.
Is this a problem? JennyOz (talk) 09:41, 29 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
  • 2. Apparently there was nothing raised at Errors when this ran in 2019 but aren't the links to the other helmets eastereggish? That is, what the reader sees is locations...
"It was the first Anglo-Saxon helmet to be discovered; others have been found at Sutton Hoo, York, Wollaston, Shorwell, and Staffordshire"
I'm guessing no-one thinks those links are actually problematic but if space wasn't a concern, it would be more compliant to insert bits eg,
It was the first Anglo-Saxon helmet to be discovered; others, named for their locations, include the Sutton Hoo, York, Wollaston, Shorwell, and Staffordshire helmets. JennyOz (talk) 09:41, 29 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
  • 3. Gog added a message on article talk page 31 Oct asking Usernameunique re image needing free use tag... but Unu, hasn't edited since August.(I happily admit knowing very little much about images - I don't understand how the blurb's image links to this first image
rather than the second, the visible extracted version
    ?)
but is all okay yet re licensing? JennyOz (talk) 09:41, 29 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Regarding the blue links next to each other, I've yet to see SEAOFBLUE called an actual error. Wehwalt (talk) 09:54, 29 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I've added a tag that the helmet is no longer under copyright.--Wehwalt (talk) 10:11, 29 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Regarding the list of location, I added "at" or "in" before each location to make it clear the link is not to the location. Wehwalt (talk) 10:15, 29 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for all. JennyOz (talk) 10:42, 30 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
