because the featured article is titled after the act of lederer's escape, i feel that the use of a photo of a gate of the camp for illustration suggests that lederer escaped the camp via the pictured gate. however, the article mentions that "both men bicycled out of the front gate", and although i do not know if the pictured gate is considered a "front gate", the main entrance of auschwitz ii-birkenau looks like this. (auschwitz i, which perhaps has a more well-known gate, was a physically separate camp nearby.)

did lederer, in fact, escape via the pictured gate? if not, would the selection of a different image be more appropriate? dying (talk) 23:29, 31 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
