Many of the articles this page refers to are of problematic in that they derive from the unreliable Encyclopedia Mythica - which has many problems one of them being the inclusion of Fiji in Polynesia when it is actually Melanesian. Another matter to be aware of is to consider what is meant by Polynesian Mythology anyway - there was no such thing as a whole - the reality is that each island group (or even each island or tribal group) had its own mythology. These mythologies were related by common origin but they were not a unified whole and this should be carefully noted in all articles dealing with these subjects. Took out some that were Fijian rather than Polynesian, and some of the ones that are now redlinks Kahuroa 19:41, 31 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
