Response
[edit]I'm sorry, but I've just got to put this out there: I found this entire essay offensive. The premise appears to be that speakers are responsible for the emotional reactions they elicit in listeners, and that is a huge boundary issue for me. Could you not? betafive 05:01, 12 August 2014 (UTC)
- I would tend to agree with User:Betafive. In the UK, as far as understand the law, it is only grossly offense language that may be unlawful in certain situations, and I think that the "grossly offensive" level has a high bar. I would say that an more complete essay would contrast offensive language to grossly offensive language. Snowman (talk) 19:54, 1 September 2014 (UTC)
