About this event

[edit]

I was introduced to this event through Wiki NYC support for the Wikipedia:International Conference of Auditory Display. Apparently, some of the same people go to both.

Spotify provides a space for the Monthly Music Hackathon at its office in NYC. MMH advertise their events on Eventbrite. Their current organizer, Adam November, tells me that MMH does not have any other financial support to note other than the donation of meeting space by Spotify. MMH does not charge attendees or even accept financial donations at this time. In the past, typical events have had 100-150 attendees. Perhaps half of attendees at any event have not been to an MMH event before, so this is a highly inclusive event which welcomes participation from all sorts of people.

I think it would be fine for Wiki NYC to suggest this event as a place where Wikipedians could meet. Blue Rasberry (talk) 19:22, 4 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Wiki Loves Music

[edit]

German Wikipedia is organizing Wiki Loves Music in June 2017. If this event goes forward in NYC then we should signal those organizers for synergy. Blue Rasberry (talk) 20:27, 15 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
