Vice-presidents
[edit]Is this a thing now? Blue Rasberry (talk) 01:22, 10 May 2012 (UTC)
- It was Pharos' idea, breaking up resonsibilities and handing them off to people as vice presidentships It makes sense, as it gets members excited and invested in the group. I'm not sure how official any of it is though. Sven Manguard Wha? 01:33, 10 May 2012 (UTC)
- I don't consider these positions to be official, since Wikimedia New England isn't a formal entity and the offices have titles like "Arch-Vice President" and "Vice President of Meetups". If the regional Wikipedia community were to become formalized in the future I imagine its offices would be organized similar to Wikimedia New York City or Wikimedia DC. - The idea of making every single person in the room a "Vice President" was simply a way to give as many people as possible "ownership" of the problem, which is a very good thing. It makes all of us VPs, from the Arch-VP down to the VP of Procuring Enough Pencils for the Next Meeting, have a legitimate stake in the success or failure of the enterprise.
