The current forecast is 40% chance of rain Saturday and 30% Sunday. Since people have already committed to Saturday. Let's stay with that.--TonyTheTiger (T/C/BIO/WP:CHICAGO/WP:FOUR) 19:50, 21 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

It's been quite a while since I've actually been in Lincoln Park. Are there any awnings or pavillions available in the park that perhaps we can use? Jguy TalkDone 19:55, 21 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
@Jguy: I know that if nothing else there are lovely pavilions in the zoo - or we could go in to one of the buildings and see desert foxes and otters and snakes and whatnot. Keilana|Parlez ici 03:04, 22 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I love snakes and foxes and otters and whatnot! :) It's been quite a while (at least 3-4 years) since I've been to the Lincoln Park zoo. :P Jguy TalkDone 03:32, 22 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
The forecast for Sunday has been reduced to 20% precipitation, and if you look at the hourly, it's only about 10% at noon. I guess we'll see how things look in the morning, but I think we should consider using the rain day if the weather is bad, since Sunday looks like it will be much nicer. CharlesJS (talk) 05:55, 22 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Forecast is heavy chance of rain in the morning and 0% after 11:30. It's on!--TonyTheTiger (T/C/BIO/WP:CHICAGO/WP:FOUR) 13:46, 22 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, and the rain isn't even too heavy this AM, so maybe that grass won't be too soaked. See you all there! I, Jethrobot drop me a line (note: not a bot!) 14:29, 22 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks Tony

[edit]

Thanks again to TonyTheTiger for putting this shindig together. I and Newlyprofligate (she finally remembered her username) had a great time and enjoyed talking to everyone. We should definitely do this again. Nick Number (talk) 15:57, 23 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Next Meetup?

[edit]

I'm sad that I missed the last meetup, but I'm now in Chicago permanently and can't wait to go to the next Chicago meetup. What if we did a meetup at a local library in July in a ward that is underrepresented on Wikipedia, and then go on a photowalk around the ward afterwards? Then the meetup could function to: 1.) Meetup! 2.) Research about a place (at the library) and we could talk about what articles need improvement. 3.) Photowalk to take photos :)

Maybe: Devon_Avenue_(Chicago)

These are just my ideas - I'm open!! Victor Grigas (talk) 23:44, 3 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I Jethrobot (talk · contribs) may take the lead for our WP:WLL event, but I think it will be in the fall.--TonyTheTiger (T/C/BIO/WP:CHICAGO/WP:FOUR) 23:56, 3 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Victor-- thanks for expressing your interest. We'll be doing a bit of #1 and #2 at the Wikipedia Loves Libraries event in the fall. Tony has worked pretty hard on the South Side, Chicago, and I'd like to see that get (back) to GA (and eventually FA) status. Devon Avenue (Chicago) looks like it could be good, too. If there are any others that interest you, let me know. I, Jethrobot drop me a line (note: not a bot!) 00:46, 4 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I love walking! I'd certainly be in for this! Jguy TalkDone 03:28, 4 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
