Note that this is the 2011 version of the picture that featured in the London National Gallery's November 2011 Exhibition ("Leonardo Da Vinci Painter At The Court Of Milan"). The picture differs from that shown in the Wikipedia article at present, which is the version sold by Christie's in 2017. The most obvious difference (at this scale) is in the the folds of the cloak over the right shoulder. This picture should be included in the Wikipedia article/s, but only with clear labelling that it is the version shown in 2011 (as above) and that it differs from the 2017 version in respect of the folds of the robe and more minor details (see Frank Zoellner "Leonardo's Salvator Mundi and its Copies (Preface 2018 Edition Leonardo Complete Paintings" (page 9) at https://www.academia.edu/36860720/Leonardos_Salvator_Mundi_and_its_Copies_Preface_2018_Edition_Leonardo_Complete_Paintings). — Preceding unsigned comment added by MishaBear (talk • contribs) 09:17, 8 May 2019 (UTC)
- Hi, All these details are important for the commercial value of the painting, but for us, I don't think it matters that much. This is the best available image of the painting after restoration on the whole Internet, and it will remain so for the foreseeable future. That's the whole and only important point for us.
