Discussion relocated from the FAC page

[edit]

The following was relocated from the FAC page.

PBS is an administrator; what would he know about nominating an FA, or what it takes to write one? Present company excepted, of course. Malleus Fatuorum 02:33, 3 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
True, though it shows what a lousy I am, I haven't arbitrarily blocked a bunch of people in months.--Wehwalt (talk) 02:37, 3 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Neither have I, and neither would I want to even if I could. But this kind of thing is inevitable in the current climate of admin=vandal basher. Malleus Fatuorum 02:41, 3 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Could you take the admin-related comments somewhere else? It would help keep this FAC focused on the content. Carcharoth (talk) 03:17, 3 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I could, but only if you can persuade your compadre to keep his mind on the job, and not the all too usual ignorant admin nonsense. Malleus Fatuorum 03:29, 3 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Could we switch venue before discussing that? As a first step, you could take this to the talk page of this FAC, and you could then point out there where PBS has engaged in "admin nonsense" you mention. Carcharoth (talk) 03:33, 3 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I hesitate to assume that you have a reading disability, so I'll put your evident blind spot down to admin solidarity. Malleus Fatuorum 03:41, 3 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
End copied section. Carcharoth (talk) 03:52, 3 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

OK, Malleus, I'm happy to talk at greater length here than on the FAC page. The reason I moved the discussion was because it was clearly off-topic and when others come to review the discussion, they won't want some long thread about the "current climate of admin=vandal basher" distracting them from contributing to or closing the FAC. On your comment about a blind spot, I've read the talk page at Talk:Hanged, drawn and quartered, and I see a content dispute, but nothing about admin tools being used. I do see a collapsed section here, where you made a similar point about PBS being an admin, but I fail to see how that is relevant. Is he using admin tools on this article? If not, he should be treated as any other editor, not singled out by you because he is an admin. Carcharoth (talk) 03:58, 3 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
