Alex New Article bot
[edit]Created a report similar in intention at User:AlexNewArtBot/URBLPNTSearchResult. Bot runs every few days and picks up some things this report doesn't. Regards, SunCreator (talk) 09:02, 29 April 2010 (UTC)
Removing red-linked articles
[edit]Would it be possible for articles which are red linked (that have been deleted) to be automatically be removed from the page when the bot updates the page (or by a different bot) please? Currently editors are going through manually removing them - this seems unnecessary if it could be done automatically. Also, could the bot be set to not update the page when there are none for a particular day please (again editors are having to manually remove the headings created (e.g. here and here). - Human review is a feature, not a bug.
- The empty sections may seem silly, but how else would you know the bot isn't broken? Outputting an empty table lets you know that the bot ran successfully, but didn't find anything for that day. --MZMcBride (talk) 22:51, 9 January 2011 (UTC)
- OK, you're right they show that it has been updated and that the bot isn't broken (although I'd have thought just the "Data as of 00:10, 08 January 2011 (UTC)." line would be sufficient (rather than creating the table and headings) but I have no idea how the bot works and it's not really an issue). I realise human review is a feature, but if an article has been deleted there is no need for it to still be on this page. There's no need for anyone to review it if it's been deleted...
