Requested creation of a page for the god Harsomtus

[edit]

Harsomtus is a god from Egyptian mythology that is the son of Horus and Hathor that I believe deserves an article and vector however, I do not have the skill or the free time to do either and would like someone else to create them PharaohCrab (talk) 16:48, 5 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Good article reassessment for Artaxerxes III

[edit]

Artaxerxes III has been nominated for a good article reassessment. If you are interested in the discussion, please participate by adding your comments to the reassessment page. If concerns are not addressed during the review period, the good article status may be removed from the article. Z1720 (talk) 22:56, 13 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hello! Though not a member of this WikiProject, I have always been interested in Ancient Egyptian history, and got a bit confused yesterday when I stumbled on "Siege of Naqada", an article created at the start of this year. I have read a number of books covering Naqada III, and all of them have argued that we have basically no firm proof for actual military campaigns under Scorpion I (or even for the exact position/power/role of Scorpion I) despite the existence of the Theban Desert Road Survey graffito. Yet this article claims that, somehow, we know about a specific siege, the commanders, and even the numbers of the involved troops? Has there been some kind of breakthrough in archaeology or is this a case of WP:OR? Applodion (talk) 17:10, 29 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

It's unfortunate nobody replied to you. I've never read any books on ancient Egypt myself, but all does seem very suspicious. I think a case could be made for throwing it to WP:AFD. Koopinator (talk) 14:10, 20 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Is this change at Dendera light justified?

[edit]

[1] I see we don't even seem to have a source for the translation. Doug Weller talk 10:24, 1 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

if there is no source then I guess not. but it is worth talking to them to see if they can provide a source. PharaohCrab (talk) 12:30, 1 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Done, thanks. Doug Weller talk 12:48, 1 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
This might have it."Die Texte in den unteren Krypten des Hathortempels von Dendera: ihre Aussagen zur Funktion und Bedeutung dieser Räume [The texts in the lower crypts of the Hathor temples of Dendera: their statements for the function and meaning of these areas " Doug Weller talk 12:56, 1 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Remove "____ equivalent" fields from Template:Infobox deity?

[edit]

What do editors think of the idea of removing the "____ equivalent" fields (eg. "Greek_equivalent", "Norse_equivalent", "Hinduism_equivalent", etc.) from Template:Infobox deity? Input at Template talk:Infobox deity would be appreciated. – Michael Aurel (talk) 23:33, 27 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
