About the workshop

Organisers and participants of Wikipedia editing workshop held at Mulund, Mumbai on May 4, 2013.

The day-long workshop intends to teach Wikipedia, contributing to Wikipedia and editing its pages. Participants will interact with Wikipedians. This will provide them an opportunity to learn about Wikipedia in a bias-free, open environment. Wikipedia has become an invaluable destination for millions of Internet users seeking information. This is a general workshop for people interested in learning Wikipedia and making contribution to free knowledge and information.

Important information

• As the workshop involves hands-on learning about making contributions to and editing Wikipedia, participants are required to carry a mobile device (laptop, netbook, or tablet).

• We are using the English-language Wikipedia to instruct participants. Before attending the workshop, register on Wikipedia using the Create account link, if you don't have an account already.

• The venue has free Wi-Fi.

• Session 6: Hands-on editing by participants
• Session 7: 'Facts about Wikipedia'
