Club Updates
[edit]- Tonight's workshop is back in our regularly scheduled Room 344 of the 18th Avenue Library.
- Our event page is up for our second annual Wikipedia Takes Columbus photography event! This is a fun week-long event (April 9 - 16) where we upload photos of Columbus and Ohio State to the Wikimedia Commons and help illustrate our city on Wikipedia. At the end, we determine the top images and the winners get prizes - stay tuned for more details.
- We've got a guest post on the Research Commons' blog that covers our recent Art+Feminism event, as well as some of our other collaborations with the venue. Check it out here.
- We're participating in The 50,000 Challenge! The aim is to make 50,000 article improvements and creations for the United States, and we're only ~2.55% done. Be sure to sign up if you're interested.
Wikipedia Tidbit of the Day
[edit]Wikipedia's criteria for speedy deletion (CSD) is a set of pre-defined cases in which articles may be deleted on the spot - a process that helps sped up the monitoring of new pages. These include cases of blatantly non-significant subjects, spam, vandalism, personal attacks, and more.
