"The Human (something-or-other)" (partial answer)

[edit]

Missing a couple...

  • A man who portrayed Orson Welles in 1994
  • A goalkeeper who once scored a goal
  • An American who shares Mr. Alighieri's name
  • A comedian whose surname is a European capital
  • Electro
  • A woman who died in 194BC
  • The son of refugees from a Baltic state
  • Two baseball players
  • One of three Rubenesque musicians
    • ?Darren Robinson "Buffy the Human Beat Box"

I started off being clever and knowing that Ed Wood was from around 1994 , but it didn't say who played Orson, so then I went to Orson Welles (duh) where it did - Vincent D'Onofrio. Then 194 BC to find Concubine Qi. Skipping all the blind alleyways... So then I spotted they were both nicknamed "The Human (something-or-other)" (That poor woman). So then I searched for "the human" baseball and dug to find those two on List of athletes by nickname and Hoover. Alighieri is Dante of course, Google search on Dante "The Human" gave "Dante Hall". Search for "human comedian" (eventually) turned up Morey Amsterdam. "human goalkeeper" turned up Brad Friedel. "human electro" turned up Spider-Man (1960s animation) whose episode 2B was "Electro the Human Lightning Bolt". As for the musicians. all I could find were Topper Headon from The Clash - "The Human Drum machine" and Keith Richards of The Rolling Stones - "The Human Riff" (according to List of entertainers by nickname). Neither of them strikes me as Rubenesque (or indeed one of three). Nor is it Allison Crowe whose label is called Rubenesque. The son of the refugees... I got nothing. - Lee (talk) 19:45, 14 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Try googling wikipedia for "the human" and "fat". I guessed the son of refugees would be difficult to find - that's why there's a hidden hint. Dmn 23:03, 14 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]
You know, I had tried "the human" Large musician, I didn't think we'd out and out call them fat. One left. - Lee (talk) 23:36, 14 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]
Got him! It was the asteroid-dodging, weather girl botherer Lembit Öpik. Found by searching "the human" Estonia. Woo. - Lee (talk) 23:52, 14 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]
That's definitely better. Congratulations for that answer! :) -- Ravn 08:11, 15 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]
