The course explores the history of the internet, the current state of global access/adoption and the digital divide. The course explores the impact of the internet as a change agent in a wide variety of fields (gaming, banking, education, etc.) The Wikipedia assignment serves as an introduction to the collaboratively authored information source and a case study for discussing information literacy w an emphasis on the information literacy framework (authority is contextual and constructed; information has value).
