- In class - Add a citation in your sandbox
- In class - Evaluate an article in your sandbox
Your group has been assigned an article. Each person should review it as suggested during class and then post the list of the changes you feel would improve it in your own sandbox.
After discussing your proposed changes as a group, copy the edits you agree upon from your sandboxes to the article's Talk page on Wikipedia.
- Assignment - Start drafting your contributions
Resource: Editing Wikipedia, pages 7–9
- Assignment - Continue improving your article
Exercise
Now's the time to revisit your text and refine your work. You may do more research and find missing information; rewrite the lead section to represent all major points; reorganize the text to communicate the information better; or add images and other media.
- In class - Peer review prompts
Respond to peer review prompts on the ARTICLE talk page, following the statement made the group about its planned edits.
1. ALL group members should respond to the following prompts (EVERY person in the group should respond to BOTH questions for this part), with specific examples:
· Persons A, B, C and D: Do the group’s edits substantially improve the article as described in the Wikipedia peer review “Guiding framework”?
· Persons A, B, C and D: Has the group achieved its overall goals for improvement?
2. Each group should divide up the prompts below so that a different person responds to each question (one person per question for this part). Please sign your comments with your name and account name so that you receive credit.
· Person A: Does the draft submission reflect a neutral point of view? (explain)
· Person B: Are the points included verifiable with cited secondary sources that are freely available? (explain)
· Person C. Are the edits formatted consistent with Wikipedia’s manual of style? (explain)
· Person: D: Do the edits reflect language that supports diversity, equity, and inclusion? (explain)
