Throughout ENG 201: Advanced Composition, we will examine the "moves" that authors perform when producing academic writing. Over time, you will learn how to implement these moves into your own writing, culminating in the creation of an independent research project.
Thematically, this course will focus on the internet as a cultural and technological phenomenon. For nearly 30 years, the World Wide Web has served as one of the dominating modes of communication. Whether it’s an internet aesthetic, a virtual world, a dead forum, or a data privacy breach, the internet has shaped how we create, consume, and connect with society and culture.
This Wiki Education page is designed to support you throughout Unit 2: Writing for Public Audiences and Collaborative Knowledge Spaces. During this unit, we will explore how academic research and writing intersect with publicly accessible platforms like Wikipedia. You will learn how to analyze, contribute to, and improve Wikipedia articles, developing skills in summarization, citation, and audience awareness.
