Upon completion of this course students should be able to:
- Identify the major groups of Protozoa and invertebrates
- Relate structure to function and life history
- Explain the evolutionary relationships of the groups studied
- Understand how phylogenetic relationships serve as the basis for classification
- Understand the processes of reproduction and development in each major group of invertebrates and how these processes relate to the ecology of specific groups
- Evaluate environmental, economic, and human health impacts (positive or negative) that various invertebrates might have on people from different societies, cultures, or populations.
