This course examines the history of women's speaking and writing in Chicago with a rhetorical and feminist lens. We spend several weeks learning about figures I've chosen from Chicago history, then students choose their own subjects to research and write about. We consider issues of how history is rhetorically shaped, how past events are interpreted, constructed, and remembered. We are situated in a Writing and Rhetoric department.
