Userbox
[edit]There is a userbox available for participants in the Women's ice hockey task force. To add the userbox to your userpage or talk page, simply add the following {{Women's Ice Hockey userbox}}. That will produce:
This user is a member of the Women's Ice Hockey Task Force (WP:WHOCKEY). |
Tag articles
[edit]Any articles that are within the scope of this project should be tagged on their talk page with {{WikiProject Women's sport}}. Adding |icehockey=yes
to will automatically place the article within the appropriate categories. You can also tag {{WikiProject Ice Hockey}}, if desired.
Women's sport: Ice hockey Unassessed | |||||||||||||
|
You can copy paste this code to tag WP:WHOCKEY. Remove any parameters that aren’t applicable rather than adding "no" to the template.
{{WikiProject Women's sport|class=|importance=|icehockey=yes|needs-infobox=|needs-photo=}}
It may be appropriate to tag additional WikiProjects. {{WikiProject Biography}} or {{WikiProject Olympics}} or pertinent WP Countries projects and taskforces are often useful for women’s ice hockey articles.
Invite
[edit]Recruit more members by posting {{WHOCKEY-invite}} on the talk page of users who may want to join. That will produce:
Thank you for your contributions to women's ice hockey articles. I thought I'd let you know about the women's ice hockey task force, a collaborative effort to improve Wikipedia's coverage of women's ice hockey. If you would like to participate, join by visiting the Members page. Thanks! |

Article templates
[edit]This is a non-exhaustive list of templates commonly used on WP:WHOCKEY articles. It is not a claim of creation or ownership by the task force, see individual template histories for attribution. If you feel additional templates should be included, please add them or raise a topic on the Talk page and another task force member will add them for you.
If you run into any difficulties with a template, helpful parameter descriptions and examples are often available on the template page at Template:{{{{NAME}}}, or on the template’s talk page at Template talk:{{{NAME}}}. The task force Talk page is always available to you.
For templates designed to use properties from an article’s Wikidata item, adding the missing parameters/data to the linked Wikidata item is much more helpful to the community than manually inputting template values on the Wikipedia article.
Note: The samples presented here are incomplete and serve only as visual aids. To use the template depicted, follow the template link and copy the blank parameters from the template documentation.

{{Infobox ice hockey biography}}
- Standard infobox template for ice hockey bio pages. Can be used as a child template, for example as a module in Template:Infobox sportsperson
Current position | |
---|---|
Title | Head coach |
Team | Holy Cross |
Conference | Hockey East |
- Standard Infobox for a college coach with elements of playing career included. For active coaches, uses the colors specified by the college color module to jazz up Infobox headers.
- General infobox template for bio pages of people involved in sports (athletes, coaches, club founders, etc.). In general, Template:Infobox ice hockey player is preferred for ice hockey players. Infobox sportsperson is useful for people who both play(ed) and coach(ed), as it allows for multiple infoboxes to be embedded.
Player external links
[edit]For use in the External links section of biography pages.
Note: For templates designed to use properties stored in a linked Wikidata item, adding the missing data to the Wikidata item is much more helpful to the community than manually inputting template values on the Wikipedia article.
{{ice hockey stats}}
- Template:Ice hockey stats displays external links to player’s profiles at EliteProspects.com, or Eurohockey.com, or Hockey-Reference.com, or HHOF.com/LegendsOfHockey (HHOF members), or HockeyDB.com derived from the connected Wikidata item.
Example: Template:Ice hockey stats on the Manon Rhéaume Wikipedia article produces links to her player profiles on EliteProspects and HockeyDB because those profiles are connected to the Wikidata item for Manon Rhéaume.
- Template:Olympics.com profile displays an external link to athlete's profile at Olympics.com, the official website of the International Olympic Committee (IOC).
Many national Olympic committees have similar profile templates. See Category:Olympics external link templates for available national committee templates.
