Wikipedia:WikiProject Video games/Peer review/Ratchet & Clank: Up Your Arsenal/Archive1

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

This was recently moved to GA-class and was recommended to help get it up to FA class that it be put in for a peer review. I know that it needs a development section and it'll be worked on soon. If there are any other problems please do metnion them.

[edit]

This is general stuff, and I'll look at it again if I get a chance.

  • One screenshot is missing a rationale.
  • I'd like to see how that development section progresses, since that will be less polished than anything else in the article.
  • There is an external link in the article. Turn it into a citation or remove it.
  • Spoiler warning needs endspoiler
  • The story section has me baffled. There is no character section that introduces the charcters, and I was lost with names. There are no wikilinks, and no main article to the character list.
  • There is a paragraph in gameplay without a citation. Has a few facts in it that could be citied.
  • In reception, you may want to consider adding a paragraph on what critics really like (gameplay graphics, etc.), and what they didn't like. Some people didn't give it a prefect score. Why? Also, I don't think all quotes need italics.

  • Points 1-4 and 6 are done. The development section may need some going over but it seems alright for now. I was unsure about the quotes being in italics, I've always seen quotes in italics but I may be wrong. Please do change them to conform to wiki standards if they don't already. • I have never gone by wiki standards. I went with what the people over at the FAC said is right and what was previously done before. And what was done before was no italics in quotes. If you don't care, I'm gonna change it. If you find something that says I'm wrong, go ahead and change it back (and I'd also suggest going here if you find someting)--Clyde (talk) 21:28, 13 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
  • Of course I don't mind, I haven't been editing wiki articles for that long so I'm still learning a lot of things as I do these articles. I've created the characters section, please say if it needs to be more detailed. I read over a couple of FA character sections and it's similar but a bit a shorter. I would also like to note that articles on Ratchet and Clank characters aren't that great and there aren't many of them. Crimsonfox 23:53, 13 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
  • Looks alright to me. The second paragraph needs some citations ("Ironically, he has a hatred for all organic life and tries to destroy it." and "they went to the same high school."). Also wikilink Clank. You may want to go to someone who has some experience with writing character sections (I have never done one. See my contributions).--Clyde (talk) 03:18, 14 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

A few more things:

  • The lead doesn't correctly summarize the article. The second paragraph is almost completely focused on the multiplayer aspect of the game. Nothing about the gameplay, story, or development are in the lead (WP:LEAD).
  • Development section still needs a lot of citations. If you're not sure what needs a citation, I'll give you a list.
  • The two citations at the end of the second paragraph (not sure why I left them in the middle of that paragraph as well though) cover pretty much the whole development section. So I'm not sure what you want to be done about that. Crimsonfox 15:14, 14 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
  • I think it would be best to put a citation every time you used one of those sources in an important fact. Since there are two different sources, every important fact needs it's own citation. You can't expect the reader to deduce which facts go to which source.  Done Crimsonfox 10:36, 15 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
