A game as important as Quake should have a page that can be read by anyone, as non-Quake players will still have heard of it and want to know more from an encyclopedia. The page needs a general clean-up and reorganisation I think and I believe that there are enough dedicated Quake fans out there to do this justice Coyote-37 12:12, 27 July 2005 (UTC)
- As someone who has never ever played any Quake game before in his life (and only limited amounts of FPS experience): intro sounds a tiny bit POV, and focuses on technical achievements with few wikilinks. "plot" might go to the intro, and I think the paragraph on "network play" can go too unless it's specifically important to Quake; the subject itself deserves a whole other article. "The game itself can be heavily modified and due to it's popularity," sounds like cause and effect is backwards; it's heavily modifiably by design, and design comes before popularity. Section on mods looks good. Mention of "previews.ck1" and the corresponding "little-known piece of PC gaming history" needs to die a horrible fancrufty death. Mentions of specific levels in the "ports" section could probably go. Link to Speedrun should be earlier in its section. Rest looks good.
- Long story short, plot and a mention of network play can go to the intro, the technical achievements should be given their own section, and "previews.ck1" must die. Nifboy 00:47, 30 July 2005 (UTC)
