I'm looking for some general suggestions on improving the quality of this character article so that it can reach GA-Status. Specifically, is there any way to make parts of this article more flowing or clearer? Any other suggestions will be greatly appreciated. -- ShadowJester07 ►Talk (now User:StarScream1007) 22:15, 17 July 2008 (UTC)
- Is there no reason that this article could be merged with the other Characters articles to form "Characters in the Resident Evil series"? Woefully lacking out-of-universe material, those other characters can be thrown away. Some of the information in this Characters in RE4 article, however, are on the recurring characters, and when built with any development or reception information on them in the other RE games, they could make an outstanding article on its own.
- Anyway, here are my opinions and thoughts based on this version. Note: I totally skipped the character plots.
- Be consistent in referring to the names. I am uncertain why the protagonist and his damsel-in-distress are addressed by their first names, but other characters are addressed by their last.
- In-universe information outweighs out-of-universe information. The repetition of the plot for the main, minor, and supporting characters is probably three to four times that of the Development and Reception (making me further think that a Characters of the series would be a better choice). Personal opinion of mine is that not every character needs to be talked on, just major notable ones.
- I would not say that IGN "specifically recognized" the characters and voice acting in their Best of 2005 awards. They were more like everything in this game just bespoke of quality, no part was a letdown.
- The image of the action figures could be considered "decorative" if there is no critical commentary on them (design, controversy over their depictions, etc).
- You could get a copyeditor to run over it again, although I had no specific difficulty in reading the out-of-universe material. Jappalang (talk) 01:51, 30 July 2008 (UTC)
