The Tampa Union Station Company owns and operates a passenger station and appurtenant facilities in the city of Tampa, Fla. Its property includes 0.242 mile of main track and 1.447 miles of yard tracks and sidings, aggregating 1.689 miles of all tracks owned and used. The Tampa Union Station Company operates its property for the joint use of four tenant companies named below. It is controlled jointly by the first three named. Atlantic Coast Line Railroad Company. Seaboard Air Line Railway Company. Tampa Northern Railroad Company. Tampa & Gulf Coast Railroad Company.
- CORPORATE HISTORY
The Tampa Union Station Company was incorporated on May 27, 1910, under the General Incorporation Law of the State of Florida. The purpose for which the company was incorporated was to construct and operate a union passenger station, terminal buildings, and tracks in the city of Tampa, Fla. The date of organization was June 2, 1910.
- DEVELOPMENT OF FIXED PHYSICAL PROPERTY
The passenger station, facilities, and tracks owned by the Tampa Union Station Company on date of valuation had been acquired by it through construction. Such work began in November, 1911, and was completed May 15, 1912. The work of constructing the station building, exclusive of plumbing and heating, was performed by the King Lumber Company of Charlottesville, Va., under contract. The installation of plumbing and heating was performed by the Bomford Plumbing Company under contract. Paving on the premises and grading for tracklaying were performed by the Edwards Construction Company. The records examined did not indicate that any of the above-mentioned contractors were affiliated with the Tampa Union Station Company.
