The railroad of The Sibley, Lake Bisteneau & Southern Railway Company, herein called the Sibley, Lake Bisteneau & Southern, is a single-track, standard-gauge, steam railroad, extending southwardly from Sibley to Halls Summit, La., 29.505 miles. The company also owns and uses 3.173 miles of yard tracks and sidings. Its road thus comprises 32.678 miles of all tracks wholly owned and used.
- CORPORATE HISTORY
The Sibley, Lake Bisteneau & Southern was incorporated July 7, 1900, under the general laws of the State of Louisiana, for the stated purpose of constructing, leasing, and operating a railroad extending in a southerly direction from Sibley, La., and for leasing and operating steamship lines. The date of its organization was not determined from the records reviewed.
