The railroad of Sandersville Railroad Company, hereinafter referred to as the carrier, is a single-track standard-gauge steam railroad, situated entirely within the State of Georgia, extending from Sandersville to Tennille, a distance of 3.841 miles. The carrier also owns 1.725 miles of yard tracks and sidings, or a total of 5.566 miles of all tracks.
Corporate history.—The carrier was incorporated on November 1, 1893, under the general laws of the State of Georgia, for the purpose of constructing and operating a railroad between the points named above. Its principal office is at Sandersville. The carrier's road was acquired by construction in about 1893. The manner of construction is not ascertainable from the records. The accounting records of the carrier for the period prior to March 17, 1910, have not been obtained, and those for the period subsequent thereto are incomplete.
