The Port St Joe Dock and Terminal Railway Company, hereinafter called the carrier, owns a pier 2,426 feet in length in St. Joseph Bay, at Port St. Joe, Fla., together with a single-track standard-gauge steam railroad, extending from a connection with the tracks of the Apalachicola Northern Railroad Company to the end of the pier. The railroad consists of 0.701 mile of main track and 0.686 mile of yard tracks and sidings, aggregating 1.387 miles of all tracks owned and used. The carrier's business is confined exclusively to the transfer of freight between the connecting railroad and boats. The operations are conducted by the Apalachicola Northern Railroad Company as agent for the carrier.
- CORPORATE HISTORY
The carrier was incorporated for a period of 99 years from November 27, 1912, under the general laws of the State of Florida, for the purpose of acquiring certain property and franchises of the Apalachicola Northern at Port St Joe, Fla. The date of organization was November 28, 1912.
- DEVELOPMENT OF FIXED PHYSICAL PROPERTY
The owned mileage, 0.701 mile, docks, wharves, and certain other terminal property of the carrier, was all acquired by purchase from the Apalachicola Northern through a deed dated January 1, 1913. This property was constructed by the Apalachicola Northern and opened for operation by that company about May 1, 1910. There is a difference of 0.001 mile between the mileage reported by the carrier, 0.70 mile, and the mileage, 0.701 mile, inventoried as of date of valuation.
