The railroad of the Port Huron Southern Railroad Company, hereinafter called the carrier, is a single-track standard-gauge steam-operated switching railroad, located in the southeastern part of Michigan. The main line extends from Tappan to South Port Huron, a distance of 3.353 miles. The carrier also owns 1.744 miles of yard tracks and sidings. Its road thus embraces 5.097 miles of all tracks wholly owned and used. It also jointly owns and uses with another carrier 0.042 undivided mile of sidetracks, its portion thereof, based on ownership, being 0.021 mile. The carrier has trackage rights over 1.01 miles of track at Tappan, Mich., owned by the Grand Trunk Western Railway Company. The carrier is an industrial switching railroad, serving several industries which are controlled by the same interests that control the railroad.
