The railroad of the Pencoyd & Philadelphia Railroad Company, hereinafter called the carrier, is a single-track standard-gauge steam railroad, located in Pencoyd, Pa., together with a bridge across the Schuylkill River. The tracks comprise 1.125 miles of main line and 0.197 mile of yard tracks and sidings. Its road thus embraces 1.322 miles of all tracks owned. The carrier leases its entire right of way, a small part of the grading, and a small bridge from the American Bridge Company, the controlling company.


CORPORATE HISTORY

The carrier was incorporated December 15, 1899, under the general laws of the State of Pennsylvania, for the purpose of constructing and operating a railroad extending from Philadelphia to Lower Merion, Pa. The date of its organization was December 6, 1900.

DEVELOPMENT OF FIXED PHYSICAL PROPERTY

The railroad of the carrier, located at Pencoyd, a suburb of Philadelphia, Pa., 1.125 miles in length, was acquired April 3, 1900, by purchase from the A. & P. Roberts Company. The right of way is owned by the American Bridge Company and used by the carrier under lease agreement.
