The railroad of the Northampton and Bath Railroad Company, herein called the carrier, is a single-track, standard-gauge, steam railroad, located in eastern Pennsylvania. The main line extends northeasterly from Northampton Junction to Bath, 6.272 miles. The carrier also owns 3.262 miles of yard tracks and sidings. Its road thus embraces 9.584 miles of all tracks owned and used. In addition, the carrier leases the tracks of The Atlas Portland Cement Company from Northampton Junction to connection with the tracks of The Central Railroad Company of New Jersey at Northampton, 0.584 mile.


CORPORATE HISTORY

The carrier was incorporated July 7, 1902, under the general laws of the State of Pennsylvania. The date of organization was July 7, 1902.

DEVELOPMENT OF FIXED PHYSICAL PROPERTY

The road owned by the carrier, extending from Northampton to Bath, Pa., 6.272 miles, was acquired by construction during the period from about August, 1902, to about January 1, 1904. The road was constructed, under contract, by the Brodhead Contracting Company. The records reviewed do not indicate that the contractor was affiliated with the carrier.
