The railroad of the New Mexico and Arizona Railroad Company, hereinafter called the New Mexico and Arizona, consists of a single-track branch line located within the State of Arizona and extends from Benson to Nogales, a distance of 88.209 miles.
- CORPORATE HISTORY
The New Mexico and Arizona was incorporated January 12, 1882, under the general laws of the Territory of Arizona, to construct a line of railroad from the eastern boundary line of Arizona westerly and northerly to a point on the line of the Atlantic and Pacific Railroad, together with branch lines. The date of its organization was January 28, 1882.

The owned mileage extending from Benson to Nogales, Ariz., a distance of 88.200 miles was acquired by construction during the years 1881 and 1882 and was opened for operation October 25, 1882.
