The railroad of Munising, Marquette & Southeastern Railway Company, herein called the carrier, is a single-track, standard-gage, steam railroad, located entirely within the State of Michigan. The main line extends from Munising to Princeton and from Lawson to Big Bay, an aggregate of 97.03 miles, with branch lines aggregating 43.407 miles from Stillman to Ethel, Cusino, and Petrel. The total mileage of first main track wholly owned and used is 140.437 miles. The carrier also owns 47.82 miles of yard and side tracks, making a total of 188.257 miles of all tracks.
Corporate history.—The carrier was incorporated under the general laws of Michigan, as a consolidation of the Munising Railway Company and the Marquette and Southeastern Railway Company. The consolidation agreement dated April 22, 1911, was filed with the secretary of state of Michigan on June 30, 1911. The Munising Railway Company was incorporated on July 11, 1895, and the Marquette and Southeastern Railway Company on October 3, 1900, both under the general laws of Michigan.
