Location and general description of property.—The railroad of the Manufacturers' Junction Railway Company, herein called the carrier, is a single-track, standard-gauge, steam-operated, switching railroad, located at Cicero, Ill., near the city limits of Chicago. The main line consists of 1.860 miles of track located along Kenton Avenue between West Fifteenth Street and West Thirty-fourth Street. In addition, the carrier owns 4.686 miles of yard tracks and sidings. Its road thus embraces 6.546 miles of all tracks wholly owned and used.

The carrier is an industrial switching carrier. It is controlled by the Western Electric Company, and its principal business is switching between the plants of this industry and connecting railroads.

CORPORATE HISTORY

The carrier was incorporated January 28, 1903, under the general laws of the State of Illinois. The date of organization was January 29, 1903.

DEVELOPMENT OF FIXED PHYSICAL PROPERTY

The owned mileage of the carrier, amounting to [?] miles, was acquired by construction during the period from early in 1903 to April, 1906.
