The railroad of The Macomb, Industry and Littleton Railway Company, hereinafter called the carrier, is a single-track standard-gauge steam railroad extending in a southwardly direction from Macomb to Littleton, Ill., a distance of 19.234 miles. The carrier owns and uses 21.429 miles of all tracks, which are classified in the trackage table in Appendix 1.
- CORPORATE HISTORY
The carrier was incorporated December 7, 1913, under the general laws of the State of Illinois, for the purpose of acquiring and operating the railroad formerly owned by the Macomb and Western Illinois Railway Company. This latter company was incorporated in 1901 under the general laws of the State of Illinois, and its property was sold at foreclosure in 1911 to the Chicago House Wrecking Company, which transferred its title to the carrier on December 23, 1913.
- DEVELOPMENT OF FIXED PHYSICAL PROPERTY
The entire owned mileage of the carrier, amounting to 19.234 miles, was all acquired by it through purchase on December 23, 1913. This property was formerly owned by the Macomb and Western Illinois Railway Company which constructed it during 1903.
