The property of The Lake Erie and Fort Wayne Railroad Company, hereinafter called the carrier, consists of a belt-line steam railway, performing a switching service only, located within the city limits of Fort Wayne, Ind. The carrier owns 0.502 mile of main track and 2.336 miles of yard and side tracks. Its road thus embraces 2.838 miles of all tracks owned, all standard gauge. In Appendix 1 will be found a general description of the property of the carrier.

Corporate history.—The carrier was incorporated March 30, 1904, under the general laws of Indiana, for the purpose of acquiring and operating a belt-line connecting railway at Fort Wayne. The organization was perfected March 29, 1904. The principal office is located at Fort Wayne. On date of valuation the 2,950 shares of outstanding capital stock of the carrier were owned by a number of stockholders, the largest of whom were H. C. Rockhill, the owner of 453 shares, and William J. Vesey, who owned 291 shares. The detailed facts as to the development of the fixed physical property are given in Appendix 1.
