The railroad of Lake Champlain and Moriah Rail Road Company, hereinafter called the carrier, is a single-track standard-gauge steam railroad, located in the northeastern part of New York. The owned mileage extends northwesterly from Port Henry, on Lake Champlain, to Mineville, N. Y., a distance of 6.622 miles. The carrier also owns yard and side tracks totaling 15.921 miles. Its road thus embraces 22.543 miles of all tracks owned.


Corporate history.—The carrier was incorporated December 4, 1867, under the general laws of New York, and organized February 22, 1868. The detailed facts as to the development of the fixed physical property are given in Appendix 2.
