The railroad of Knoxville, Sevierville & Eastern Railway Company, hereinafter called the carrier, is a single-track standard-gauge steam railroad located in the east central part of Tennessee. The owned mileage extends southeastwardly from Vestal to Sevierville, a distance of 27.076 miles. The carrier also owns yard tracks and sidetracks totaling 2.054 miles. Its road thus embraces 29.130 miles of all tracks owned. In addition to the above owned mileage, the carrier leases 0.155 mile of yard tracks and sidings from the Southern Railway Company.

Corporate history.—The carrier was incorporated July 15, 1907, under the general laws of the State of Tennessee. The purpose for which the carrier was incorporated was to construct, maintain, and operate a line of railroad from Vestal to Sevierville, a distance of about 28 miles. The date of organization of the carrier was not disclosed by the records reviewed. Its principal office is located at Knoxville.
