The railroad of the Kissimmee River Railway, is a single-track line within the State of Florida, extending from Walinwa to Nalaca, a distance of 7.258 miles. This road forms a continuation of the Seaboard's owned branch between Plant City and Walinwa, Fla.

The Kissimmee River Railway was incorporated December 3, 1917, under the general laws of the State of Florida, statutes of 1906, for the purpose of constructing and operating a railroad from a point about 1 mile southeast of Walinwa Station to a point near Nalaca, Fla. The date of organization of the Kissimmee River Railway was January 29, 1918.

The Kissimmee River Railway owned on the date of valuation 7.258 miles of single-track, standard-gage, steam railroad, all located in the State of Florida and extending from a point near Walinwa, in a southeasterly direction to Nalaca. In addition, it owned 1.063 miles of yard tracks and sidings. The entire property owned had been acquired by purchase about January 29, 1918, from C. Fred Thompson, owner. Construction of that part of the railroad extending from the end of the Kissimmee branch of the Seaboard, near Walinwa, to a point in section 21, township 31, and range 30, about five miles, was commenced for C. Fred Thompson, on January 15, 1917, by the Langford Construction Company, under terms of contract dated December 14, 1916, executed by the construction company and the Seaboard, under whose supervision the work was performed. This construction was completed July 24, 1917. Construction of that part of the railroad to Nalaca, 2.25 miles, was commenced on August 7, 1917, and completed December 21, 1917. It was not determined whether the construction of this line of railroad was done by contractors.

From the date the Kissimmee River Railway's property was purchased to the date of valuation it was operated by the United States Railroad Administration.
