The Joliet Union Depot Company, hereinafter called the carrier, owns and operates a union passenger station in the city of Joliet, Ill., for the joint benefit of The Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railway Company, The Chicago, Rock Island and Pacific Railway Company, and The Chicago and Alton Railroad Company, hereinafter called the proprietary companies. - CORPORATE HISTORY
The company was incorporated on June 13, 1911, and reincorporated on October 11, 1913, under the general laws of the State of Illinois, in the interest of the proprietary companies.
- DEVELOPMENT OF FIXED PHYSICAL PROPERTY
The lands for the station and grounds were purchased from The Chicago and Alton Railroad Company. The station was built under contract by the Newkirk and Powers Construction Company and Adam Groth & Company, and was opened for operation on November 1, 1912.
