The railroad of the Johnstown and Stony Creek Rail Road Company, hereinafter called the carrier, is a single-track standard-gauge steam-operated switching railroad, located in Johnstown, Pa. The carrier owns 1.824 miles of main track and 2.682 miles of yard tracks and sidings. Its road thus embraces 4.506 miles of all tracks owned and used.

CORPORATE HISTORY

The carrier was incorporated January 19, 1888, under the general laws of the State of Pennsylvania, for the purpose of constructing and operating about 3 miles of railroad to be located in Cambria County, Pa., between Youngstown and Moxham. The date of organization of the carrier was January 19, 1888.

DEVELOPMENT OF FIXED PHYSICAL PROPERTY

The road owned by the carrier, amounting to 1.824 miles, was acquired by construction and purchase. The records reviewed indicate that about 1.03 miles were acquired by construction in 1888, and that about 0.76 mile was acquired by purchase from The Lorain Steel Company in 1916.
